Session Fees

What are your session fees?

Individual therapy sessions are offered at $165 and couples sessions are offered at $175 for a 50-55 minute session, conducted virtually. For integrated approaches tailored to your specific needs, additional fees may apply, varying based on the selected services.

Do you accept insurance?

I am currently in-network with the following insurance companies:

  • Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Virginia

  • Aetna

  • CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield

  • United Healthcare

How can I use my out of network benefits?

Please contact your insurance company in advance to verify if this is an option for you. When inquiring about your out-of-network benefits with your insurance company, consider asking the following questions to ensure clarity:

1. What is my out-of-network mental health coverage?

2. What is the reimbursement rate for individual therapy sessions?

3. Is there a deductible, and if so, how much has been met?

4. Are there any pre-authorization requirements for out-of-network mental health services?

5. What documentation do you need for reimbursement (e.g., superbill)?

6. Are there any limitations on the number of sessions covered?

As an out-of-network provider, I can provide a superbill after each session for your convenience. The superbill will contain the necessary details for submission to your insurance company.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I strive to make your experience seamless and convenient. I accept payments through various methods, including debit cards, credit cards, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and Health Savings Accounts (HSA). Choose the payment option that best suits your needs.

I also accept Loveland vouchers as a payment option for eligible individuals. To find out more about eligibility criteria, please visit the Loveland Foundation at https://thelovelandfoundation.org/therapy-fund/.

FAQ

What does a consultation call look like?

During our consultation call, we'll explore your current needs and discuss how I can support you with your specific concerns. If we both agree to move forward, you'll receive a welcome package. This package contains important documents, further details about our services, along with instructions on how to schedule your first appointment. It's an opportunity for us to ensure that our collaboration aligns with your goals, making the process seamless and tailored to your unique needs.

How should I prepare for my first session?

Your initial session with me is dedicated to building a foundation of trust and understanding. We'll focus on exploring any concerns or apprehensions you may have about starting therapy, addressing the 'here and now' aspects of your experience. Together, we'll acknowledge the significance of taking this step and the effort it requires. This session sets the tone for our collaborative journey, ensuring a supportive and empathetic space as we work towards your goals and well-being.

How long can I expect to come to therapy?

The duration of therapy is flexible and tailored to your individual goals and needs. While I suggest a minimum of 4 weeks for assessing progress, ongoing tracking ensures continuous support. My aim is to support you until you feel confident in applying therapy tools to your daily life. You have the choice to end therapy whenever you choose, and together, we can navigate what works best for you.

Do you only work with black women?

I specialize in working with Black women, however I have experience supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. I am committed to providing services to anyone seeking support, ensuring that I can meet their unique needs. Your well-being is my priority, and I welcome the opportunity to collaborate and support you on your journey to greater mental health and fulfillment.

What if I can't afford your rate?

If my session rate poses financial challenges for you, I encourage you to reach out. I am open to exploring flexible arrangements that align with your budget. Your well-being is important, and we can work together to find a suitable solution. If, for any reason, we are unable to reach an agreement, I am more than willing to assist you in finding a qualified therapist who can accommodate your financial situation. Good Faith Estimate Notice

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
